
Maria de Fátima Matos da Silva holds a PhD in Archaeology and History from the University of Granada, since 2008. In this context, she was a grantee of the PRAXIS XXI PhD Program, of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
Since 1988, she has been working at the Universidade Portucalense (UPT) as a researcher, teacher and coordinator of study cycles, also integrating several bodies of the institution, including the Scientific Council since 2008 and the Pedagogical Council since 2014, of which she is currently Vice President.
He has directed and collaborated in several national and international research projects and is currently an integrated member of the research unit REMIT – Research on Economics, Management and Information Technologies, at Universidade Portucalense, and collaborating member of CITCEM – Center for Transdisciplinary Research on Culture, Space and Memory, at Faculdade de Letras, Universidade do Porto.
Since 1989 he has been directing several projects of archaeological prospection and excavation, environmental and patrimonial impact studies, bibliographic editions, exhibitions, museum programs, among other cultural actions. Consultant for several projects and municipalities.
She is the author of seven books and has published in national and international journals more than eighty articles and book chapters on heritage issues, with special emphasis on archaeological heritage and its enhancement. She has organized and participated in several conferences and seminars, and is currently coordinator of the project Cultura@Portucalense.
He created and directed the publication Cadernos de Arqueologia e Património. She is guest editor of two MDPI Special Issues, Quaternary and Religions, indexed in Scopus (Q1) and a reviewer for several international journals.
He works in the Humanities and Social Sciences area(s) with emphasis on Archaeology, Cultural Heritage, Preventive Conservation, Heritage Management, Heritage Interpretation and Enhancement, Museology, Territorial Development and Sustainability, Universal Accessibility, Heritage Accessibility, Cultural, Religious and Accessible Tourism.
