Biographical note

I completed my BA in History and my MA in Contemporary History at the Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto. In my master’s thesis I focused on the study of the Portuguese socialist movement during the late 19th century: “O Protesto Operário e o socialismo em Portugal, 1882-1894”. I was a research fellow in the project “Modes of Life and Ways of Inhabiting: Islands and Popular Neighborhoods in Porto and Braga”, by the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho. I am currently a PhD FCT grant holder, an integrated member of CITCEM and I am developing a research project related to the political and propagandistic representations in the Portuguese-American community in New England during the Military Dictatorship and the New State.
